Highlights of August 2015 Issue

August 2015
  • Paying tribute to late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, LittleHands has published one of his speeches in the August issue of the journal. Some of his important sayings were also included in another article.
  • Pictures and a write-up on Onam, the national festival of Kerala adorn the very face page of the magazine.
  • The celebrated classic story of Sleeping Beauty that appears on the fourth page is sure to attract readers.
  • Comparatively small articles titled ‘Where was paper first made?’ ‘The grinning monkeys’, ‘For learning, no parrot is old,’ ‘Bring out the best in you’, ‘Where does silk come from?’ ‘Where was the world’s first great civilization’, etc. are worthy of reading.
  • ‘What we do willingly is easy’ is a motivational article. ‘Gender equality’ by Hariprasad Menon exhorts us to think high of the womenfolk. It is really an eye-opener.
  • Three young children of Christ Nagar School have written an article on alien encounters. Good attempt. Articles on Ice-cream, Vatican city, A wolf’s life etc. are quite informative.
  • Little Hands receives letters of appreciation from many celebrities over India and even abroad. We have included a letter of Irom Sharmila, the fighter for justice, in this issue.
  • Readers of the magazine will find it quite inspiring. The famous mathematician Sathyendra Nath Bose and Acharya Vinoba Bhave are the two rich personalities introduced to children in this issue. A new column ‘art gallery’ too is included anew.
  • All usual columns continue to contribute to the worth of the magazine as before.
